Food Handler's card testing will be right here at Mountain Pointe! Mark your calendar! It is FREE for volunteers. Pride Board has scheduled Maricopa County to have testing here, on our campus, Wednesday, Sept. 15th from 5pm to 7pm, in the G wing. Please study BEFORE you come to take the test. It is not difficult, but there are questions on temperatures and open food that must be correct. I am including the website address for the study guide. They said they WILL NOT have booklets at school to study. You must come prepared. Students are welcome and encouraged, but if they need a card to work at a restaurant, there is a charge for that. Only Volunteer cards are free.

They will need about 5 volunteers to help distribute and correct the tests. I can assist until 6pm, but then we have our Pride Board meeting. Please contact me if you can help...we are lucky to have them come to us.

The Mountain Pointe Marching Band Invitational - Our predecessors have left a high bench mark for us. This event is regarded as one of the premier events for a high school marching band to participate in prior to the U of A, ASU, NAU and State Festival Band Days. This is where the band get a sneak peak at everyone else's show. We have been praised and complemented by ABODA and music educators. In order to continue this tradition of excellence, We are in need of volunteers to help organize and run this event. - Please respond to Rozanne Janacek at lrjanacek@cox.net or 480-940-9300 if you are willing to help. Anyone student seeking community service hours... This Counts.

Incoming Freshman Parents
The Mountain Pointe High School Band Boosters would like to welcome all of the incoming freshman band parents. Please feel free to ask any of us questions. We were all freshman parents and many of us did (and some still do!) get that "deer in the headlight look" when it seems like the band language is like learning Greek!
Basically, if you’re a band parent, please feel welcome and come get involved! We are an extended family and can’t wait to get to know you!
